Not in the file open dialogue, but you can use the Browser for this. 9.5 has a much improved content browser, btw.

There’s a plugin called Add-The-Sea that *might* have this capability, but I’ve never tried it. https://www.motion-gimmick.net/english/index2_e.htm

If you have AE Pro you should be able to do this with the Wave World plugin.

That doesn’t seem quite fair, does it? If it was me and the render speed improvement wasn’t that critical, I’d hold off for R10.

I’m afraid Cinema doesn’t have type of drawing tools you’re accustomed to in your CAD package. You might want to import your CAD drawings as .ai or .eps files.

About the only thing you can do is check the “regular grid” option in the extrudeNURBS caps, and set the division quite small. You might still get a few artifacts, but it should be manageable.

If you have R9 it should be on your goodies CD. You can download plugins for earlier versions on Maxon’s site. BTW, this is an AE plugin–not a Cinema plugin.

AFAIK it’s only limited by the amount of ram in your system. I’ve had scenes with as many as 10 million polys.

It’s possible, but it requires a plugin. Specifically, Weightlifter Pro by Arndt (moderator). I think it’s available in the Dairy Store. Highly recommended.
