What I would do is keep both effectors at 100% strength, stack them on the cloner’s effector tab so the the second takes precedence, then set that one to use some kind of area falloff and animate the position of the effector along with your character.

  • Did you actually render the animation? You have to do that in addition to saving the .aec file.

  • The built-in cel render effect is very old; it predates Cinema’s support for ngons. ngons (polygons with more than 4 sides) are really just a display trick, as internally Cinema breaks them up into quads and tris.

Sketch & Toon is MUCH more advanced and gives you the ability to render lines in many different ways — as well as the ability to use different settings for selection sets.

I’ve had pretty good success with dwg files, but there are so many versions it’s hard to generalize. I suggest you download the demo and see how it works with your files.

You would pretty much have to poly model it.

    1) not sure what you mean — looks like a light green to me.

    2) if you use the material color channel, the rendered result depends on your scene lighting. If you want brighter white, use brighter lights. I you don’t care about shading use the luminance channel instead of the color channel. Then you’ll get the exact color you choose.

No clue — what’s it supposed to do?

[Bert Brown] “is there a way to have the sketch and toon automatically update as i change the render settings (contours, intersections, etc), so that i can see what different settings look like without rendering each after i check on and off?”

You can use the interactive region render for this. It’s not instantaneous, but pretty close.

Do you have a TP Geometry object in your scene? If not, that’s probably it.

I would make a spline to use as a camera path. Snap the last point of the path spline to the polygon and create another point directly above it. Then move the camera by animating the align-to-spline tag’s offset setting.
