Is the tape going to be completely stuck on the ball, or is one end loose or something like that? If the former I would probably not model it at all, but rather use a bump and/or displacement map.

If the latter I would probably start by splitting off some polygons from the sphere (functions>split)and edit them to taste.

    Welcome back. 🙂

c4dcafe.com is a good site for tutorials. cineversity.com is a pay tutorial site sponsored by Maxon, but it has a lot of good free content too. For books I would recommend “Cinema4D 10 Workshop” by Arndt von Koenigsmarck. If you have MoGraph the Cow has some excellent tutorials by Mylenium.

Well, MoGraph can’t actually make the text conform to a sphere, so you have to bend it first and then clone the bent text. You were on the right track there but you needed to put the extrudNURBS and deformer inside of a null and then clone the null.

The current state to object command (under the Functions menu) will just turn the deformed, extruded text into editable geometry so the extrude and deformation doesn’t have to be calculated every frame for every clone.

    Try this instead: https://www.3danvil.com/tutorials/text%20clone.c4d

If I was you I would convert the text to real geometry (current state to object) before cloning, as it will be much faster in the editor and for rendering, but I left it editable in the file.

There’s a pretty easy way to do it. Use a SweepNURBS and then adjust the rotation spline in the attributes manager so that one point is all the way Y max and the point at the opposite side of the graph is at Y min.

Still not sure I understand. You want to extrude text and wrap it around a sphere? If so you can use a Wrap Deformer on it, set to spherical mode.

Very easy, actually. Just put your text object/spline in an extrudeNURBS and animate the Z depth parameter.

[Gonçalo Perdigão] “yes i know, but in mine CD4, moograph module i don’t have the plane effector,is there diferents versions of moograph?”

Ah yes, I think the plane effector was added with version 10.5. You can do the same thing with the Shader Effector — it’s just a little more processor intensive.

The plane and group effectors are both part of the MoGraph module.

Hmm, I don’t know what to tell you except that you must have the wrong plugin installed or … do you actually have a camera object in your Cinema scene, as opposed to just using the editor camera?
