adding tape to a tennis ball
hey there guys,
I’ve just finished modeling a tennis ball and wanted to add sticky tape to one half of the ball (an old Australian cricket tradition).Now before I started I thought it best to get some advice first. What do you peeps reckon would be the best way to model the tape and then make it look like it’s stuck to the outside of the tennis ball?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is the tape going to be completely stuck on the ball, or is one end loose or something like that? If the former I would probably not model it at all, but rather use a bump and/or displacement map.
If the latter I would probably start by splitting off some polygons from the sphere (functions>split)and edit them to taste.
