Im ultimately trying to get my camera from C4D into AE, which is frustrating becuase ive found hundreds of responses on how to do it the other way around but nothing about c4d to ae, and the few times it has been asked on here there are no answers. So im fending for myself and tried just doing the usual save an composite project, well ive done that but when i try to import to AE NOTHING happends,…i import, select it, it gives me only the option for compisition cropped layers, hit import..it goes back to AE with no result, it didnt import and no error message..?

and i have VERY limited time to get this done so any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

You’ll have to make it externally composite

There is a tutorial at http://www.cineversity.com
it’s one of the free tutorials
    https://www.cineversity.com/tutorials/lesson.asp?tid=737

You’ll have to sign up, but don’t pay anything, just watch the free tutorials.
Also, the tutorial is called “Pipeline to After Effects,Part 1 & Part 2” If you need to search for it.

You have to install the Cinema->AE plugin into your AE plugins directory. The plugin comes with Cinema and you can find it in the Maxon>Exchange Plugins directory.

When you save the compositing file in Cinema it will create an .aec file that contains the camera (and other) information. Open that file in AE and the plugin will translate it — including your Cinema camera info. — into After Effects.

Hmm, I don’t know what to tell you except that you must have the wrong plugin installed or … do you actually have a camera object in your Cinema scene, as opposed to just using the editor camera?
