I don’t have the Lite version, but can’t you just duplicate the object, select the polys, invert the selection, and delete?

    Use the Vray2SidedMaterial.

Keyframes are being created, which you can tell from the animation path in the viewport and the keys appearing in the time slider. But for some reason the animation isn’t playing when you scrub the timeline. There are a number of ways that can happen. One is to deactivate the film strip icon next to your object/parameter/summary track in the Timeline. Another is to turn off animation for a layer, although you don’t seem to be using layers. Another, which seems most likely here, is to turn off “Use Animation” in the Tools>Execution menu.

  • Sure, area shadow sharpness depends on the size of the area light, or if you’re using an infinite light, by the “infinite angle” setting in the light’s details tab.

  • You’ll have to use area shadows for additional control.

  • If you create the tube in Cinema using a Sweep nurbs or other generator then it will automatically have UV mapping that follows the curve of the object. Your object has no UV mapping at all. You can create an appropriate map using the UV Peeler function: https://cineversity.com/vidplaytut/new_in_cinema_4d_r16_uv_peeler

Not sure what you mean by pillow effect. Can you post a scene, or at least a screen shot?

TP can be challenging but the presets make it relatively easy. In this case you would add a standard emitter preset and the move along spline preset. Then it’s just a matter of dragging your particle object into the emitter preset’s geometry field, dragging your spline into the move along spline preset’s spline field, and playing with the parameters until you get what you want. No need to interact directly with TP or Xpresso at all.

You also need to add a TP Particle Geometry object to your scene. This can all be done in the space of a couple minutes.

This is a file I did a few years ago and the clones are fading in, but you’d just have to reverse the animation of the low/high clip in the “Control Fade” material’s Color>Noise channel:

I think you’re looking for the “near clip” parameter in the light’s Details tab.
