    Good Morning Hive.

I’m a lighting designer working for touring acts. I use a lot of moving-head light fixtures whose beam exits the light fixture with the same radius as the lens.

My problem is that the source of a c4d spot light is a point, not a user-definable radius. To date, I’ve been placing the spot light towards the back of the light and “fudging it” by adding a disk light to represent the lens. The beam is still narrower than the aperture. If I place the c4d spot behind the light, and exclude the light fixture in the object attribute manager, I get a volumetric cone sitting behind the light fixture.

I was wondering if there was some way of being able to spread the start point of the spot light….

    Thoughts please?

    Thank you.

I think you’re looking for the “near clip” parameter in the light’s Details tab.

    Ah HA!
I had a feeling it would be something remarkably obvious.
    Thank you very much.
