I’m hoping Avid do extend the range of 3rd party hardware.
I am in the same position as many others editors – seriously considering a return to the Avid family after so long away, but having two I/O devices that are so close but currently so far away – Kona3 and MX02LE.
After trying the 30 day demo of Avid, i’m pleased to see most of the reasons i disliked Avid all those yeasr ago are no longer an issue. I was surprised how much more comfortable i felt using it again.
Now if they would just announce which hardware they are aiming to play with, the purchasing decision would be a lot easier and quicker!

Screenflow by Telestream is an excellent piece of software for recording these tutorials, on a mac.
I have recorded a few using it, and whilst i did script beforehand, i just used that as a rough guide, and ad libbing most of the time. I would re-do each section until i was happy then move to the next. I prefer a more natural flow to the delivery, so this worked for me. It depends on your subject matter how you present your own recording.
Screenflow has a built-in editor so you can do all your editing within the same application, and it also lets you alter alsorts of parameters, such as the size of your cursor, zoom into specific areas of the recording, etc. And these can all be altered after the screen recording!

i think the problem is going to be because of the many different non-realtime codecs you are trying to work with.
Get them all transcoded into formats that are designed for editing, and i’m sure you will see a big improvement.
Just transcoding one file type will not be enough, as your computer will still be struggling to keep up with all the different conversions its having to do on the fly.

render the graphics with alphas as prores 4444. That is designed to preserve the alpha.

the OP showed a picture of his dvd playing on a tv screen, and in the middle of the frame the was the word “opnion” – which i’m guessing was supposed to be “opinion”.
misspelled graphics are a very fast way to make your productions look amateur.

I have not experienced such a range of codecs in my timelines, but if i did, my first suggestion would be to transcode all the footage to Prores.
You have so many different kinds of video that you may well be over taxing your processors.

what format is the file you want to use?
Its possible the file is one that cannot be used in realtime and will need rendering regardless of the timeline setting.
