[Noah Kadner] “If this is a procedural map- how can I get around this?”
Sorry for the delay. 🙂 Okay, a couple of things I would suggest, in order of priority:
In render>AA settings:
* Set MIP scale to 100% if it isn’t already there;
* Lower your AA threshold (start at 2% and lower if necessary);
* Try Best AA set to 2×2/4×4.In my basic test those settings did the job. If it doesn’t work for you try upping the AA to 4/4 and maybe even 4/8. If *that* doesn’t do it you might have to use some scene motion blur.
You could also try changing your AA Filter to “Animation” if you’re using something else.

Here’s one way to do it, although it’s pretty labor intensive: https://www.3danvil.com/temp/lines2sphere.c4d
I used a Posemixer to morph the shape and position of the curvy line to the spherical line.
I selected one set of longitudinal edges on the sphere, then ran structure>edit spline>edge to spline. I copied that spline and moved the points around to form the curvy line (Sphere.Spline.1). Then I copied the original spline again to use as the posemixer’s default pose.
You’d have to repeat for all the lat/long lines you need, but you could save a lot of time by copying/rotating/pasting the lat/long lines.

[Noah Kadner] “I’ve got a large floor with a marble texture applied. When I render an animation the area near the horizon dances around like it’s being calculated at random. I tried bumping the antialiasing way up but this doesn’t seem to help. Any ideas for keeping the look of this texture steady?”
Is that a bitmap texture or procedural?

Yeah, I think that’s why they don’t bother, because you’ll rarely if ever have realtime playback out of a 3D renderer. I imagine we’ll see that change as realtime OpenGL/d3d performance comes along.

Just control-click the red circle next to any parameter in the AM to set a keyframe. That’ll set up the track for you. Ctrl-click again to clear the key.

Not sure what you mean. If you set up lights in your scene they won’t rotate with the camera. That’ll only happen if you use the autolight.

[ademafiles] “I know that I’m able to use extended desktop and literally drag the app window to that, but I’m wondering if there is a similar output previewing like After Effects and Final Cut Pro.”
No can do AFAIK. -
[Michael Goldberg] “Hey,
I think I found it….
In the prefs, Common,
Render Threads was set to 1 (No MP) instead of optimal…
When I changed it to optimal, it rendered the same as 8.3…..
Looks like that would do it.”Great! Now try the area shadow comparison. 🙂

Ko Maruyama is a motion graphics guy who uses Cinema. You might find his tutorials helpful: https://homepage.mac.com/komaruyama/Tutorials/
Tim Clapham is another, although his tutorials/examples are more complex: https://www.hypa.tv/tims/download.html
I think you’ll find Cinema a much *much* friendlier place.

AFAIK there’s no way to do that (fading) with basic particles. It’s possible with Thinking Particles.
You can get size variation with the random parameter, but as you’d guess it’s just … random.
