October 8, 2015 at 7:37 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC: importing Keyboard Layout?

I can’t find my Premiere Pro CS6 keyboard layout ANYWHERE. I’m on a Mac and I think I’ve entered every conceivable place it could be and can’t find it.

I just have a kys file from another computer that I would like to add to a new one.

Can anybody help? I’m kind of lost here.

So that’s to say that you exported the AAF from Avid after you relinked to the original material?

And the sizing and timewarp was respected? Maybe it won’t do it when it’s both things at once or two things at once. What about stuff like Flop image?

I am doing the same thing. Need to finish it in Davinci Resolve.

Tried 2-pass VBR and that also performed better than multipass.

Sometimes if Avid isn’t able to see a specific media folder even if I delete the database file I make a new mediafolder with mediacomposer by making a tone media for example. Then I can transfer the mediafiles to that folder and restart avid. Remember to delete the database files from the newly created media folder.

  • Why would it be a problem to have for example enabled track selected?

This is pretty common for me too. It happens in 5.5 as well. I’ve then had succes to importing regularly but this still causes the same error message to pop up regularly so you can’t just leave the computer without worry. Another thing that pretty much makes it impossible to import is any way is if there are spanned files on the disc where the persons shooting left the camera on record for over 20 minutes at a time. This should be avoided at all cost! Especially of you don’t have avid 6. Or maybe I’m missing something? I’ve heard that certain setups of avid 6 are faster at importing and don’t have nearly as many error messages.

March 3, 2013 at 12:23 am in reply to: Relink master clip to different video

The clips are both imported from the same source file. An avi in the DV format I believe. But for some reason they both have different time codes and one master clip is one frame longer than the other. Moreover the one I want to relink to doesn’t have a Tape name like the offending clips does. Tried giving the offending clip a new source by unlinking and making them the same but couldn’t make it relink.

Will just manually replace clips on the timeline.

    Thanks.

Aren’t precomputes also titles and graphics? If I search for only precomputes with media tool these things would also show up right? I guess I can just delete the precomputes that do not have a graphics or title icon?

I am using Avid 5, but no always the 5.5 version. I guess we will just have to live with the bug. Unbelievable that a thing like user settings can still be buggy. That stuff should just work without a hassle.

It seems the way to go is to go through redcine with an edl. Do I need to be mindful of anything in particular like effects and such? A few of the clips have been timewarped and flopped.
