Need to bump this thread – I’m getting the same problem in CS4 (red screen then sync problem) and it’s driving me mad! Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Also, remember that if you’re only using regular DVD’s (ie as opposed to Blu-Ray or HD-DVD) then you’re compressing down to Standard Definition anyway, so it won’t ever look as good as your original HD footage.

    Great,

I do actually have a targa sequence in this section, though if it is the beef-laden clip in question, it has affected the project as a whole because I am getting these errors for any part of the two master squences in the project.

I will try removing them and give it another go.

    Thanks,

    Adam

  • If it turns out your flash clips are in fact not working correctly, I’d download some flash encoding software seperately, then convert to flash from a master movie exported out of Premiere – normally best to do this anyway; Premiere is a great editing tool but isn’t designed to be used as compression software, and a more bespoke programme will no doubt give you better results.

sorry, i don’t think i was clear on what i meant. i do still want to keep an hdv quality file (in terms of no compression, same ratio and size etc), but i want to know if there is a simple output option for full quality hdv (in the same way as a dv-avi is a simple output file for SD which keeps original quality with preset specs).

or failing that, what are the best settings to use and which file type for the best export?

    cheers

    Ah,
that might well explain it. My project is currently just shy of 100MB…
It does actually seem to be running okay at the minute, but if it starts happening again, I’ll try this out.
    Thanks!

It’s a trial version I’ve downloaded from the web, not the full thing – already got that at work but need it for one project on my laptop.

  • We have shot on HDV 1080i.
Can you clarify changing the camera’s output settings?
    Many thanks,
