  • Does it matter if one of the clips is ProRes 422 while the others are ProRes (LT)?

So the DP of this shoot this weekend recommended that we shoot everything in 60 fps so that I would have the option in post to do 24fps, basically saying that all I do is drop it in a 24fps timeline and it will drop the frames.

What are people’s experience with that. Do you feel as though the result could be better using one of the suggestions up top. The thing is that I have a ton of clips and need to be able to edit without having to have to render every second.

    Thanks

Thanks, thought there might have been a solution on a single timeline, oh well.

I want to export four seperate clips on the same timeline via the render que. I move the in out section over those clips and add to render que, make sure that the setting is “work area only” but all that is rendered is where the in/out section is currently placed within the composition (hope this makes sense). I am definitely doing something simple incorrectly. Any advice? Thanks

That is what I thought, the guys at other world computing told me differently and just wanted to confirm.

That was the solution, I was confused as I couldnt find the “layer properties” next to or around the clip within the timeline and more so since the preset animation had a composite layer option…Either way, I really appreciate your help.

this is definitely an issue with the lens flare layer, but I can’t find any place to turn transparency on or off. Unmult doesnt seem to be available for CS5 yet, but I just download and installed pixelbender toolkit but of course can’t find out where these plugins were installed.
I should be able to figure this out within the lens flare effect window, but can’t seem to…I have included a screen shot this time.

I am relativity new to AE and am not sure where the “on original” vs “on transparent” settings are. I did not use unmult as I dont have that plugin. I have attached a screen shot of the timeline.

Thanks for the quick reply and you had it right…i simply dont have transparency, but im not sure why. My comp has the following:
    -camera
    -lens flare
    -text
    -adjustment layer
    -light beam

I am not using a black matte background or anything that should disable the transparency, what do you think is going on? I really appreciate your help.
