I never used 10.3.9, went straight to Tiger. Don’t recommend it totally, but have onlined several pieces with with Kona SD and no major upsets.

try it, it definately works in FCP4.5. No independent clips switch needed.

peter, I find DVPRO50 to look exceptionally good if loaded from Digibeta via SDI. Looking at it on a 20″ sony BVM with the SDI board, you are VERY hard pressed to tell the difference between it and Uncompressed. I’ve onlined plenty of lower end direct-to-market things with it, but for higher end jobs, especially with FX, I’ll always go 10bit Uncompressed. Also you mentioned keying, then* defiantely* go with 10bit.

No…. I’ll give it a try, but you never had to do that before. My solution: I just went into a FCP 4.5 bay and used Media Managerlike I used to, then opened the new project up in FCP 5.

FCP always starts a project with one sequence. It makes that sequence based on the last settings you had when you start a new project. Chances are that sequence is DV or something. Delete it, go to A/V settings, set it to Blackmagic 10bit NTSC, and start a new sequence (Apple + N)

Hey Sean, the official stable QT for FCP 4.5/OS10.3.8 was 6.5.2.
I’m running QT 7.0.1 and a FCP 5 system with a Kona SD and the beta BM drivers, everything has held together *very* well so far. BM has really done us a favor by supporting the Kona SD (which is a very good card, honestly). I really thought it was going to be another Digital Voodoo (talk about being left out in the cold with some vaporware). Because of that support, I’ve bought Decklink cards for our last two systems.

I don’t think that’s a possibility. Drop your finished HD Quicktime over a white/blue/green/puce NTSC frame, and resize it to fit.

Nah, say you just laid down a master with Edit to Tape and you want to spot check to make sure Audio and Video laid down correctly (without going down to the machine room to the actual machine). So you rewind a bit in the Edit to Tape – you can see the video track, but you can’t hear the audio. this USED to work in FCP 3 and 4.
