Neither. If you plan on using After Effects, then I would reccomend upgrading your RAM and getting a better graphics card. Also, based on Adobe’s product requirement history, I doubt that this computer will serve you till the next versions.

This is not only in Premiere Pro. Same thing with After Effects. This has something to do with hardware limitations. I for one, don’t have a problem going across both monitors BUT, when I use an ATI card at one of the studios, the box doesn’t show up. Also, you don;t have to “shrink” your workspace to one monitor. Simply move the box from the secondary screen to the primary screen.

Depends on a lot of variables. In this area (NYC), I have charged people as low as $50/hr. for a simple animation and sometimes over $500/hr. for extremely complex animations.
A couple of questions:
1) How long is the project going to be?
2) Is this goint to be a “full time” thing for a couple of months/weeks? Or is it only for a couple of hours each day?Since the job description entails pre-production, post-production as well as deliverables, make sure that he is being paid for all of those things and not only for the AE part.

It’s not only with Adobe products. Essentially during load, the program scans the font directory in the hard-drive and hence the new fonts only show up once the program is shut down and re-started. The program doesn’t constantly look for new fonts while running.

Download an application called ScLive and try capturing via that. If that doesn’t work, then there is a hardware issue.
