To get rid of minor hum/hiss, use the DeHummer plugin. However, this will work on only minor hums. If you have a lot of noise, then Adobe Audition should be the tool of choice.

Are you planning on building this yourself? If so, I would advice against it. We just put up an Axio system and tried to build it from scratch. There were too many hardware conflicts and we ended up getting a system from one of the Matrox dealers. Works perfectly!Aanarav Sareen

First off…Its GPU accelerated playback and rendering I have run numerous tests to see if this works and it does. Infact, Steven ran a few tests while we were on the phone and he will give you the same answer that I did.

GPU accelerated playback does not mean that you do not have to render. You have to render whether the option is turned on or not.

I have the 6800GO (mobile version) and it works on my end. Can you run a few tests and provide us with test results, in terms of time taken when GPU Accelerated Playback is activated and when it’s de-activated?

Nothing less than 7200rpm will work. Also, you are pushing your limits by using just an internal HDD.

Use the collect files feature in After Effects. File > Collect Files.

So, you exported the file as a WMV from Vegas? If so, wrong move. You should have exported the file as an AVI or MPEG2. Encore versions 1.x don’t like anything other than that. Also, the optimizing stills is a feature of Premiere Pro, where well…the stills are optimized for quality and motion. I am not sure if Vegas has the same feature.

1) Premiere Pro does not work with a highly compressed formats such as MPEG. I would reccomend converting your files to DV-AVI.
2) Explained by problem # 1.There are a few apps that can convert MPEG files to DV-AVI. I personally reccomend DVD2AVI.

The USB convertor is the problem. Premiere Pro does not support captures via a USB interface.
I would strongly reccomend that you watch Steven’s tutorials on Lynda.com or even pick up a good book on Premiere. Also, you cannot apply transitions to clips as is. You need to trim down the head and tail of the clips and then apply transitions.

1 minute to open is OK. The save duration is a little long. Are your drives full by any chance? Is the drive defragmented? Is the drive 7200rpm?
