    Hi,

I am working on a project with about 3 hours of DV video. There are no pictures and all the media is on its’ own drive. Premiere Pro 2 takes about 45 seconds to save and about 1 minute to open the project. These seems way too long, can I clean it up in any way to speed it up?

    I have XP SP2, Intel P4 2GH, 1GB DDR.

    Thanks for any help,

    Stephen

1 minute to open is OK. The save duration is a little long. Are your drives full by any chance? Is the drive defragmented? Is the drive 7200rpm?

I would have thought this speed to be good for a 2Ghz machine with that much video.

A three-hour timeline is pretty beefy. I would say that I wouldn’t find this to be unusual on that machine.

Thank you all for your replies.

The drives are not full and were defragmented prior to capturing. They are all 7200RPM. The timeline is only 1 hour (with 3 hours of source material) but it is also a multi-cam timeline.

It just seems like it has gotten slower and slower and I have not done too much more; a few edits here and there but it seemed like it used to go much faster even with this same project…

    Thanks again,

    -Stephen
