I would contact BorisFX to determine the cause of these problems. If these are the only effects that are locking up renders, then there is a good chance that they may be at fault.

What version of Premiere Pro are you using? Also, can you post a sample clip, so that we can try to re-produce the issues you are seeing? Also, try to reduce the dimensions of the image to see if that helps.

There are several effects in Premiere Pro that can help you out. Take a look at the Channel category and play around. However, if you post a sample clip, we can guide you more specifically.

At this point, Premiere Pro does not support dual-layered media.

It is possible that your audio is clipping. For the problematic clips, make sure that you are not exceeding -6db.

Did you shoot the footage as DV or HDV? What are your project settings? Please provide more detail regarding your project.
