There is a plugin called DV Date, which costs around $20. That plugin can tell you what the shooting date is.

Who out there is using there laptop for editing HDV and playback of Windows WMV 720p and/or 1080p hd files. The Windows website has not been updated for some time and is kind of vague about system requirements (calling for 3 ghz or equivalent CPU) but I’d guess some of the latest processor equipped laptops might qualify?”I am using my lapotp for HDV editing and this time around, my Core Duo laptop can actually handle native HDV editing in Premiere Pro. I also have an HD TV Tuner connected to my system and the quality is FANTASTIC! Couldn’t ask for anything better.

I only use laptops to edit, because I travel so much. I do have a couple of desktops, but laptops outperform most of them. I just purchased a new laptop, less than a week ago and the specs are as follows:
Pentium M 2.0ghz CORE DUO
2gb RAM
nVidia 7800go
DVD+-RW
and the standard stuff.Here are some things to keep in mind:
1) Make sure you get a good warranty. Laptops tend to overheat quickly with the applications we use.
2) Make sure that you get a 7200rpm internal drive
3) Make sure that you get a laptop with atleast 4 USB ports. You will need them for external drives.The model # for my laptop is Dell Inspiron 9400 and you just missed a great deal that was posted yesterday. The configuration above was selling for just over $1250.

I just got the Studio Techniques book in the mail and there is a whole section for color correction. Also, I HIGHLY reccomend this book to anyone who really wants to learn Premiere Pro, amateur or expert.

I haven’t recieved my copy yet, so I can’t confirm it. But, I can certainly say that the Total Training DVD does cover this (atleast that is what it says on their website)

I personally prefer to defrag my hard-drives before a long project. So far, I have seen minor improvements, especially if the computer was slow before the project.

Download and install an application called G-Spot. Select the generated AVI file and post the dimensions of the video file. After getting this info, we may be able to assist you better.

The Steadymove plugin ships free with Adobe Premiere Pro. Check your installation DVD. Also, IMO this plugin definitely works well.

There are multiple ways of doing that, but it is soon changing because hard-drives are getting cheaper everyday and more affordable. Is there a reason you are trying to do this?
