Note that booting from an external hard drive will only work if the external drive has the intel version of OS X on it if wit was installed from a Power PC disks it will not boot.
Are you talking computer monitors, never color correct from computer monitors, always color correct from a broadcast monitor, only there will you get proper color correction.
Sounds like interlacing, which is normal. If your end result is DVD then you will be fine because TV’s are interlaced unlike your computer monitor. If you are going for computer playback, like the web then de-interlace the video.

All I was doing was letting him know that he posted in the wrong place, besides the DVD SP forum looks like it gets plenty of use to me, I check there just as often as I do the FCP forum.
