What type of video are you putting up if you cant use use firefox to view it. I am on a Mac and have no problem with any of the common video formats. Windows Media, Flash, Quicktime. You must be using some sort of strange type of video. Ether that your your web hosing service is way behind the times, and I mean way behind.

I don’t think so I was actually going to sagest trying exactly what you have done. Try trashing the FCP preffs and then creating another brand new project.
However I have never tried to lay an HDV project that long back to tape, so lI cant say it length is an issue or not.

The HDV format only allows for print to tape, you cannot edit to tape. Therefore you cannot have control over time code.
You say you project is 90 min. What tapes are you using I personally have never seen HDV tapes that are longer then 60 min or so.

No offense, but I must also say that the website needs a a lot of work. First off your font choice and font colors are EXTREMELY distracting.

Sounds like you are referring to the G5 Quad, and if I remember correctly it had 4 completely separate chops no dual chips. But I could be wrong.
But if you plan on putting anything in the expansion slots defiantly go for the newer model.
What is the computer listed at, because it may be worth it to pay a little more to just get a new MacPro, or even a used MacPro since they were just updated the other day.

Please do not take this the wrong way but there is no such machine as a [Dave Giordano] “Powermac dual core 2.3ghz” Power Macintosh machines never had dual cores (dual cores meaning that each processor unit actually has 2 processors in it) they only had one processor chip per processor unit. The G5’s had dual processors (two completely separate processors. Dual Core Processors are an Intel thing.
Now to the question. The difference in render times is not going to be to different between a Dual 2.5 G5 and a Dual 2.7 G5. However you did not say how much ram each machine would have that also plays a BIG part in the equation.
Personally I would not want to be investing money into a system that at the newest is over 3+ years old.

What do you mean my access point?
I have never seen the need of anything other then a computer with a wireless card and a wireless router.
Wireless routers are sometimes referred to as access points, but i see no reason you would need to connect a wireless router to another wireless router.
You need to be more specific about what you are using before anyone can give any helpful hints.

Yes it does, ALL macs do, it is where the backspace key is on windows computers.
You don’t have to empty the trash through keyboard short cuts, most people only empty the trash every couple of days anyway. Once you use Command+Delete you can empty the trash through the finder menu.

They are usually specific mac versions.
Also I think that the ram has changed so you may not be able to get extra ram for a few weeks also.
