Graphic card update “do it yourself” question
I cannot wait 5-7 weeks for the 8800 gt card in the new mac pro.
My old machine has fryed – and I need to order the new MP asap.
Can I order the standard config and buy a 8800 gt card or ati 1900xt somewhere else, and put em in myself?
Are those that apple sell standard cards, or special mac edition ones?
Sorry for the perhaps stupid questions, but being able to update gfx cards are something many people wonder about i think…..

They are usually specific mac versions.
Also I think that the ram has changed so you may not be able to get extra ram for a few weeks also.
