What version of the OS are you running?
Have you run all available updates especially OS updates?
Does the same issues happen in another user account?If the issue also happens in another user account, then you will need to archive and install your OS.

Better options in editing, it is overall more interesting to watch in the end.
Renting mics and additional cameras is a GOOD way to go, just make sure you add the price of all your rented equipment into what you are charging.

An iMac G5 will NOT take 4GB of ram, the most ram a iMac G5 would ever take is 2GB max, iMac’s could not take 4GB of ram until the latest model came out last fall.

Well sense iMacs only have one internal drive, your media and your OS are on the same drive, this is NEVER recommended, as it WILL cause issues like the ones you are having.
And I am sorry but I still see no reason NOT to do a search, you have now waited 3 days waiting for others to give you answers instead of spending some time looking your self. All the information we have given you about dropped frames and hard drives has been covered many times, and would easily come up with a search.

you can get out of the program itself? “Yea the trick is to export it using the same setting as the timeline you are working in in FCP. For example if you are editing DVCPRO HD then you export the slides show as a DVCPRO HD quicktime. Then when you bring it in to FCP you do not have to render, and you can also lay it back to tape as a master.

Of course you can do it in FCP, however if all you are doing is a photo montage it is quite time consuming to manually do each photo. Using FCP is great for a couple, it will just take 10 times linger if you have 60 photos.
Great tutorial though, I just wish I could subscribe to all the cows FCP tutorials in a podcast.

mp3’s are vary compressed audio files, and FCP does not like compressed audio files much at all.
So keep converting them first.

Not inside of FCP, to do it inside you have to manually set keyframes.
Whenever I do slideshows I use fotomagico and then bring the finished slideshow into FCP if needed.

Thats quite possible, is the video in the internal system drive or an external drive.

You don’t have 2 min to do a search, but you do have 3-4 hours to wait for somebody to reply to your post. No offense but no matter how tight a deadline is there is ALWAYS time to search. When searching you can usually find your answer in the same amount of time it takes to write your question, plus you do not have to wait for somebody else to respond.

Yes it will, you are on a PowerBook so you will need a PCMCIA Card, if you were on a Macbook Pro you would need an Express Card.
If your external drive has an eSATA connection then getting a eSATA card is even better because eSATA is 2X faster then FW 800.

Dude calm down, my story was not made up. You apparently don’t want to admit that some people may actualy choose to pay for a repair like that, I would not but apparently some people will like the guy who wanted to use clasic.
You did assume, and again I have given no BS.
Now I consider the mater closed, as it is going absolutly noware and we are just giving everybody else who comented on the origional post plently of unwanted and unneeded email in there in box.
