Thats quite possible, is the video in the internal system drive or an external drive.

You don’t have 2 min to do a search, but you do have 3-4 hours to wait for somebody to reply to your post. No offense but no matter how tight a deadline is there is ALWAYS time to search. When searching you can usually find your answer in the same amount of time it takes to write your question, plus you do not have to wait for somebody else to respond.

I was, and am working with the source media on an internal drive.The computer has four gigs of Ram with which I have had feature length Projects play through with no hits or stalled images in the veiwer. So I don’t think it is a hard drive problem.

And in fact yes since I was given 1 day to pull together a forty minute video with a hard deadline. I needed to keep cutting material in so Posting and hitting refresh every now and then actually took less time to do a search find fifteen or sixteen different posts on the word I search filter through them to find the one that best matched my problem. 😛

Which is still happening, However it is only in this project file. I have worked on the feature and the Dance plugger (two other of the Projects) I am editing right now with out encountering this problem only when I Work on this project does it happen.

It remains to be a problem because this is a file I am going to have to update on a weekly basis expanding subtracting and such.

An iMac G5 will NOT take 4GB of ram, the most ram a iMac G5 would ever take is 2GB max, iMac’s could not take 4GB of ram until the latest model came out last fall.

Well sense iMacs only have one internal drive, your media and your OS are on the same drive, this is NEVER recommended, as it WILL cause issues like the ones you are having.

And I am sorry but I still see no reason NOT to do a search, you have now waited 3 days waiting for others to give you answers instead of spending some time looking your self. All the information we have given you about dropped frames and hard drives has been covered many times, and would easily come up with a search.
