I agree with Tom. I have had many times when laying back simple DV to tape the the firewire bus gets a little overloaded at times and causes dropped frames. Now I will use nothing less then eSATA drives for media, much faster and it is on a completely separate bus then the camera/deck.

You have a totally valid concern Jeremy. Keep in mind that Leopard is universal so a the same clone can be applied to a PowerPC Machine and to an Intel Machine. The only time you may have issues, is if the Machine was released after Leopard was. The installer for an off the shelf purchase of Leopard will work on older machines, but newer ones may require a newer build of the OS that contains drivers for newer hardware. So I myself will be building a new image once my new MBP arrives.
Try a basic image, and then customize each machine after it is imaged.

Yes making the disk images is definitely the speedy way of installing , especially for reinstalls.

Just a tip instead of installing every ting on each computer, install every thing once on one computer and then clone the drive to each of the others. Then you just need to delete the license file and give each computer a different software SN. Or even better once you get everything installed and set up, use an external drive to boot from and make a dmg of the enter computers set up. Then just go to each new machine and boot from then external and image the new machine. Another good thing about this method is that if the software gets corrupt ether OS or apps, you can just grab the files you wish to keep and re-image the entire drive again. You can literally be back up and going on the machine with in hours.

I have always just used the presets in Ai/Ps for what ever type of video am using and it all works great.

hmm you should probably take it into the genius bar at your closest apple store. I have never heard of that showing on a MBP.

Honestly the best why I have discovered to get video ready for youTube is to pull your edited file into iMovie 08 and use the publish to youTube feature. It does it all for you.

Just a quick note excel is not a data base program, it is a spreadsheet program. Data base programs are like Microsoft Access, and FileMaker Pro.

[James Haefner] “My project is picture intensive”If you are doing a LOT of photos in a video, you may want to look into a program called fotomagico. With fotomagico you can bust out a photo slide show in a fraction of a time you can in FCP because you don’t have to keyframe all your movement. You also don’t have to resize all your photos first. When finished you can export to any video format you wish.
