Honestly Trevor, where you are only 17 I would say stay with school for a while more. Get a associates or even a full degree. Build your skills in school, build up a portfolio at the same time if you can. Get internships that will not only real word experience, but also give you real world contacts.

I under stand this may not be your problem, but if the FCP was set for HDV like you said and the camera was set to down-convert then NO the computer will not see anything. Both the computer and the camera must be set to the same thing in order to get anything at all.

Sounds like the camera is set to down convert to DV yet you are setting the computer to capture HDV.
Both need to be set the same.

With bootcamp you must remove the bootcamp/windows partition and that create a new one that is smaller.
Therefor you will need to back up anything on the windows side because it will be erased.
Oh and this question would best fit in the new forum dedicated to running windows on a mac.

I am a fan of showing the correct number of hours on the invoice that way the client does not get the wrong idea of how long it really takes to do things.
I recommend listing the full hours on one line of the invoice and adding a second line sowing the number of hours discounted or not billed for, and then the third line giving the total bill hours and total bill.
