A quick google search shows that the options are not cheep.
If you are planing on recording then why not use screen recording software?

Simplest solution would be to install this on the Windows machine https://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive thus allowing windows to read your mac drive. That way you only have to copy the files once onto the windows machine.

Not necessarily, thats why the first question I asked was where did the video clips come from.

Any graphics distortion caused by a bad connection would not show up on a screen grab. In addition if it was a graphics card there would probably also be artifacts or distortion in places other then the viewer and canvas.
For all we know the files were given to Joana on a hard drive and they are corrupt.

Sure if you give us the information needed to help.
For starters, where did the video clips come from? What codec are they? How did you capture them? What are your timeline settings? etc etc.

That poof sound means that you must have accidentally clicked on the hard drive on the left side of the finder and pulled it out thus removing it from the list of drives shown.
From the finder menu select Go, then Computer. This will show you a list of drives/disks connected to the computer. Simply select the drive you want and drag it to the left side of the finder then let go when you see a line NOT when another drive is selected.

Are you buying the body only or body with kit lens?
If you get the body with the kit lens, you will have a basic lens all the time and it is CHEEP to rent lenses when you want something else.

Not funny at all, QT7 can be installed on to a snow leopard system from the install disks under optional installs. And to keep them both in the apps folder could potently cause confusion to the system.

Two problems here.
One, never edit using a USB drive, it works in burst of data so it has problems with the high sustained data needed for video editing.
Two, As you have discovered fat32 formatted drives will have problems with file size limitations.

A plug in like that could be useful if your drive was formatted NTFS, but your drive is formatted FAT32 so the plugin will do nothing with your drive.

Again a USB drive ill cause problems editing, use a firewire drive. Again that NTFS plug in does nothing for a FAT32 formatted drive.
If the files are to be edited in FCP by the other person, then reformat the drive Mac OS Extended and recapture. If they are not going to be edited in FCP by then I would recommend having the video captured on that that system as problems may arise if video is captured in FCP but then edited on a non FCP system.

First off what version of the OS are you running?
QuickTime Pro is only a part of QuickTime 7 and older the newer QuickTime X that comes with Snow Leopard does not do QuickTime Pro.
But you can install QT7 on a machine running Snow Leopard.
