It was more of the rhetorical question. Non the less, I love to see some great compositing features buil in and more diverse filters. More importantly better stability of motion.

Thank you very much. I also hope that the new version will be much more stable. It is annoying how unstable Motion is, particularly in comparison to After Effects. I wonder what that Rig thing is. 🙂

To be honest I never done anything like this. I would also say nothing is impossible, however I have not seen anybody do what you are asking.
Maybe see this tutorial and see if there is a way to manipulate your particle stroke in a way that looks like a charcoal.

Have you tried subscribing to cows podcasts on after effects. There are tons of tutorials on animating with after effects. I think you should understand that animating a psd file is exactly the same as animatig a illustrator file. Just bring in composition crop layer and animate the layer the way you want it. Also try to post questions in after effects forum as I am sure people in that forum will be better suited to help you from now on.. Good luck.

Use thre digits at the end sort of _001 and so on, also make sure your images are saved to rgb not cmyk. Try also jpeg rather than png.

Did you not read my first post. I love motion as much as any of you. The fact is Motion is bad in dealing with Illustrator files. Yes, you can import an PDF or Illustrator. However, all layers have to be separated one file per layer basis. A bummer if you have lots of layers. I repeat, THERE IS NO WAY IN WORKING WITH ILLUSTRATOR FILES IN A WAY THAT ONE CAN DO IN AFTER EFFECTS. APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM…..-)

I think it needs to be mentioned that if you are going to export illustrator files into PSD then it is not anymore vector file it is a. Bitmap.
