Trapcode Shine is the effect Paul was looking for.
For a transition, Sapphire DissolveEdgeRays from GenArts, or BCC Rays Dissolve by BorisFX.

Hi Matt,
I believe you’ll have to use one of the Blackmagic project presets to get PPro to use the Blackmagic hardware for play out from the sequence monitor.

Yes, I do this from time to time. However, in the Options, in the Local Resources tab, you should set Remote computer sound to “Leave at remote computer”.

Here are a few free ones:

https://www.petewarden.com/ (The After Effects plug-ins set)
https://www.burgers-transition-site.de/Note that since they are free, some are not completely compatible with the current version of Premiere Pro. For example, you’ll want to avoid certain parameters of effects in the PeteWarden plug-in set, and some of the Burger’s Transitions don’t work correctly in Premiere Pro 2.0.

Eric,
In Premiere Pro CS3, you’ll be able to replace clips:

Check out the section on improved editing efficiency.Cheers,

I had this problem when using the Creative ASIO driver in the Audio Hardware settings, which is the default when you have a Sound Blaster Audigy installed. That problem is solved by going to Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware, and changing it to Premiere Pro Windows Sound. Hope this helps.

March 22, 2006 at 7:46 am in reply to: Creating the “yellow shine”-effect as seen in many skimovies?I’m not sure exactly what effect plug-in or host application was used there. But you might want to check out Pixelan GrainPlus, which can be used to create random lights and flashes. It even has different blend modes for the noise:

All effects can be applied, but just like applying effects to a Black Matte, many will not have a noticable effect. Think of Transparent Video as “Clear Matte”.
-
Transparent Video is a synthetic clip just like Black Video, Bars and Tone, Color Matte, etc. It comes in handy when you want to apply an effect that generates it’s own image and preserves transparency, such as the new Timecode effect, Write-on (installed when you have After Effects too), 3rd party plug-ins like the Heroglyph titler, etc. Just put a Transparent Video clip on the highest layer, stretch it out as far as you want, and apply the effect.
Of course you don’t always want to apply the Timecode effect to a transparent clip, because the timecode effect can only read valid timecode for the clip it is applied to.
