Thanks for responding – I know about the templates, but when I try and use em’ I’m getting a cineform trial has expired pop up. I uninstalled Cineform but still get the same pop up – I should be able to render to the HDV intermediate (Cineform codec) templates without Cineform Connect HD…..right?

November 26, 2005 at 7:51 pm in reply to: HDV Monitoring for color correction, I’m confused.

A lot of people are using the Dell 2405. The hard part is previewing HDV from the timeline, from what I understand the APVe does not work with Vegas – you can’t use the HDTV component out, it’s a proprietary Matrox driver thing. The decklink is supposed to be awesome for preview but not really cheap – especially if your only working in HDV and don’t need the SDI…

Right now I’m working on an experiment using SLI & two vid cards with Vegas preview to second monitor function. I’ll try and report back how it goes.

It should, but…and this is anecdotal… Know a guy editing a project on FCP shot with a DVX 100 in 24p, he recorded the audio to a DA88. His buddy captured the files on another computer and then gave him all the audio on a harddrive – he is now having the audio slowly drift out of sync over time. This is turning out to be a HUGE problem for obvious reasons, it might be worth doing a test…

jetitdv is right on – I haven’t had a cd since version 4. All you need is the activation code and you are good to go.

From what I’ve read these usb monitor adapters don’t work real well – for the money you could get a decent dual head card. Of course I have not used one of these suckers so take my comments for what they are worth…
