Now here’s a bummer
Just imagine, you spec your new system (after painstakingly analysing every nook and cranny of the budget) and only to find the AMD 4800+ is nowhere to be found in our country!!!!! – no one has it, has had it!!!
Doesn’t that absolutely suck!!
I heard a rumour that the AMD chips are in short supply, or am I just staying on the wrong side of the “tecnological advanced world”!

That is possible Gary, just haven’t gone into it yet. I have a dealer who is using some muscle tactics to try and source me one
Said he will let me know tommorrow.
What I just cannot fathom is that these chips have been available for a good while now. Surely I can’t be the only one looking for these things???
As a point of interest, what is the going rate for the 4800+ in the states?

Just built a system with parts ordered form newegg.com, here is the price I payed for the 4800.
CPU AMD 64 |4800+ ATHLON X2 939P RT – Retail (Qty=1,Price=$787.00)

Wow. When I got mine built in August, the chip was about $1100.
