  • O.T. – what are the top iconic horror shots

I’m doing a little project and I was hoping to pick some peoples BRAINS!!! (muhahahaha – sorry it’s almost Halloween) – what are the top ten (or more) iconic horror shots that jump to peoples minds.

I’m thinking more traditional horror – like the Shining or Evil Dead, not Aliens or sci-fi horror…and I’m not looking for a scene, just a shot. Like the shot of the first Zombie in the graveyard in The Night of the Living Dead when he turns his face up and the lightning hits it.

Or the “here’s johny” shot from the Shining.

    Anybody?

Numerous shots of Karloff as the Monster in James Wale’s Frankenstein.

Mom’s corpse spinning around in the cellar chair in Psycho, the light swinging overhead.

Shots of thge medical staff in the Twighight Zone episode “Beauty is in the Eye”.

Any shot of a big guy wearing coveralls and a hockey mask.

The Amityville house being lit up by lightning.

Any Julia Roberts movie. (lol just kidding)

Thanks guys, good stuff. I forgot about that bulb swinging – I have got to rent psycho again.

    Anybody else?

Definitely the shadow on the shower curtain, of the arm holding a long knife, in Psycho. Not to mention that freaky music!!
