Thank you for your quick reply, however I do not know what GPU stands for. I went into preferences and found nothing that looked like “GPU”. Hey, I’m 65, this computer stuff is not my generation. I used to splice film with a Movieola!

Mike: Thank you for getting right back on this, however that did not work, instead a spreadsheet comes up that is labeled “Edit Details”. Now just to be clear, I placed the typing cursor right before the year and held the ALT key down while typing “0169”
Did I get that part right?
(I clicked on several fields of the spreadsheet to no avail.)

Okay, Don I know this is off topic, but I have to say it. Columbia Pictures sent me to Vancouver for 6 weeks on a movie years ago. Loved your city, loved your people and the ‘Only cafe’ (in Gas Town?)great fish, strange people. Anyway, I miss Vancouver, can’t wait to return-a great place to make movies, too bad I am a Yank.

John: I have Quick time installed but perhaps not the one that is supported by Vegas. (?) I have Vegas 9e. I get an error code if I try to convert to MOV from anything out of Vegas rendered.

Since this thread started I did purchase a Steadicam pilot and have had no problem with the monitor on the Steadicam. I have a EX3 so I can not speak of the outputs on the EX1. On the EX3, the output from the camera that should be used is the Video out with a BNC to RCA connector, then a short RCA to RCA cable connected to the monitor.
That should solve your problem if you have the same BNC out on the EX1 as the EX3 has.

Martin, thanks. I am glad to know about that technique for certain needs and I will use it from time to time. And John thanks for your input, what you suggest is exactly what I was needing as it works more like working with film and linear tape of which I am more familiar. Obviously Vegas does a whole lot more than meets the eye, I just keep discovering new things. Who has the best tutorial that I can purchase?
