    I’ve found that simply playing the tape several seconds before opening the record tool fixes this. YMMV.

    Just a shot in the dark here, but I’m guessing if this system has ever been connected to the net that you may have some kind of malware… and/or other processes that are bogging down your system.

    No, it’s not possible. When the XLR inputs are activated via the menu, the onboard stereo mic is de-activated.

    Not only is this getting more & more confusing (you say you can’t work on other projects, then you say you can) but to make it more confusing is the way the COW is showing several of these posts. The dates and time are all screwed up.

    Just out of curiosity… were you trying to delete the media data bases while Avid was still running? It makes sense it kicks back ” no can do, because they’re still being referenced”. Close Avid, then try again from the desktop level.

    You most likely have something overlapping the program OR preview monitor. Even if it’s the slightest bit this will happen.

    I don’t cut with FCP so I can’t offer much help, but I can say that sometimes all it takes is a simple step missed and the device recognition issue may crop up.

    Maybe someone else can chime in.
