Just a simple stabilize of one track. The challenge is that it is not the same size as the sequence… so that is my problem. My work around was to take the footage make its own sequence, stabilize it, then export it and bring it in pre-stabilized. Works OK but extra steps.
I get a lot of footage from “wherever” sources and it cause some challenges sometimes. Coremelt Lock and Load does a better job than Premiere’s stabilizer.

Ii have been happily using MovieCaptioner for a couple of years. Never had to CC DVDs until now. I have made the .scc files but can not get them into DVD Studio. Tried everything including contacting MovieCaptioner. Tells me Incompatible Format. Plays perfectly in QuickTime, Flash, etc. Made sure the frames were correct, drop frame VS non drop frame. Just can not get it into DVD Studio.
Driving me NUTS!

Mac or Windows… little different. Mac under Premiere Pro > Preferences, Windows under Project down the bottom > Preferences.
For a single file you can modify it. Right click on the file and up comes a dialog box. chose 6th down Modify. Then you can set up the audio anyway you want. It is also under Clip.
I actually made my own preferences for the way I work so all files come in split track mono. With 6 audio layers you will have to do some work.
There are a bunch – 36+ videos on the new CS6 PrP in the tutorials. I just changed over and have been watching them in my hotel each night. I believe the guys name is Devis. Real nice job. I’ve watched some of them a number of times. There is a good one specifically on this subject – couldn’t my finger on it at the moment.

Make sure in your preferences that you have it set up for the number of audio files you have and what tracks you want them to go to. I use XDCam all the time and had to set up a specific audio import setting preference so that the tracks are always split to mono for individual editing.

I too have the problem on occasion. If I stop and play again the audio is back. Sometimes I close the project and reopen it – that works.

No problem here – there are a number of things about CS6 that seem strange – or shall I say different. BUT – it is the best so far from them. Apple just flat out blew it.
Fair exchange is the reason I read what is going on here. Have a great weekend – think of me sitting up here in Vermont editing on CS6 not FCPX.

Of course I knew all you brilliant people would have answers. I have set up multiple layouts – one which fills the screen with just the monitor for playing back to clients.. They love watching on the 30 inch Mac monitor. Will look at some of the options suggested using match frame. Right now I can’t see a way of having scopes and the reference video. But still very new ant PrP let alone 6.
CUDA card – not sure yet…. deciding on next move. I spend most of my time on the road and am looking at the highest end MacBook Pro for travel editing – or shudder – a Windows machine – sends chills running through my body………
My MacPro can’t easily be taken on the road. Is on this trip because of only a 4 hour driving distance to my home. It has an ATI Radeon HD 5870 – which of course I just bought last year.
There are things I really like and things I really dislike but for the most part not bad. Just need to have Adobe keep on making it an editors system not a geek lots of clicks system.

Not turning on and off the effect – just the split screen which enables you to see the cause of the effect. It is just a tool not the effect. How many people want to see a before and after of an effect in the final piece?
Possibly it is just me…but nuts to me. Of course that’s what many say about me. 🙂

I did the update. still had the problem. Opened a different “test” project with no footage. Then reopened the primary project I’m on.All the media came back. Premiere is not as clean at handling files as FCP7. Have had a bunch of crashes for no apparent reason. But continuing to use it because the company I’m working for requires it and Apple lost me with X.
There are a bunch of things they could do to make it better. One for me is better handling of a 2 monitor system. Any time you close a window it defaults back to the main screen. You have to go back and resize it. – pain but it works. Seems that there are more mouse clicks to do the same thing as in FCP7 or Avid. Lots of little items like that which just slow things down.
