Audio Dropout Mid Clip
I’m editing a project on Premiere CS6 and I’m having an odd audio problem. For long clips the audio simply disappears midway through the clip. I know the audio is there because I play play it on the camera and in Final Cut.
My theory is that I was running out of space on my laptop cache and it simply gave up on those audio clips. Premiere seemed to act oddly when conforming by going back to clips several times but I got no error message.
Any ideas what this problem is and how I can remedy?

I’m having a similar issue where the audio drops in and out. I’m going to try and trash my prefs and see if that helps

I too have the problem on occasion. If I stop and play again the audio is back. Sometimes I close the project and reopen it – that works.

Actually it isn’t similar. The audio doesn’t drop in and out, it plays for a while and then dies. The waveform reflects this. All of the other audio from shorter clips works completely fine but the longer clips tend to have their audio die mid way.

Try deleting your .cfa files for the media in question, and then don’t mess with the project until they are done re-conforming.

Oddly enough I loaded them up on my desktop and it worked instantly. No new conforming or anything. *shrug* Going to go back and forth between the two and hopefully figure it out so it doesn’t happen again.

I think I’ve narrowed down the issue. When I’m in Premiere Pro CS6 and I open up a 720p 59.94 ProRes Clip in the Source Monitor it plays perfectly. When I drag it to my sequence, it starts to act wonky. The sequence I created was a Pro Res sequence and I drag the clip down to it and it asks if I want the sequence to conform to the clip. I click yes. This is the wonky sequence.
I created a second sequence and clicked no to the conform to clip and now my stuff plays perfectly. Not sure what’s going on , but I may have a temporary solution.
