Even though it was recorded on a DSR 80, i have to use my DSR 390 camera as a feeder to vegas since vegas will still not communicate with my DSR 30 and the DSR 80 is only component or SDI, but the vu meters on the dsr 390 look about right, so it looks like i should bump the audio in vegas , but then again how do i know when i have too much. do the waveworms indicate levels? should they fill the track at the peaks? and what is the best way to do that to a whole track.

i have cool edit 2000 as an audio editor but it does not interface with vegas (it appears) and when i try to edit audio from a vegas track the audio is just a bunch of noise. Any help there?

    Thanks

  • i checked my settings in the audio properties and they are set for stereo DVD (L&R)

I have no clue why my receiver is sending them out of the rear

The receiver is set for Dolby digital surrond sound – unless my amp is doing something wierd?

  • correction on the audio from the rear only, it’s from the rear and center.

There is no audio on the front L or R.

Thanks for the advice Gary, any clue on how to get my computer back to SP1 – sounds lke a nightmare!!!

  • OK, I just moved the AC3 and mpeg files up one level to a parent folder (had a specific folder just for the rendered files…) Now it works… does avi files need to be with the ac3 files

  • Thanks.. that was my first thought too after thinking on this.. i was using memorex media and perhaps the fuji media is not as forgiving… also, I think that i might have been in a hurry and let it roll at 8x when I usually burn video and audio DVD’s and CD’s at a much lower rate than the media is rated at.. i’ve had similar problems with audio CD’s that we produce and the safest insurance is to back the burn down to at least the mid range… say 20 times for a 40 times burner and media with our bravo duplicator.

thanks for your suggestions and your insights on the sony dvd players. it sems that people who buy the $79.00 dvd players have no problems.. just those who purchase hi end players.

same case here with a cheap dvd player compared to our panasonic t-2020… it will throw up media more often than cheap players

I burned the same dvd compilation at 2x and waiting to hear back from teh client.

    i’ll post the results
    All the best!
