All set folks~~…. thanks anyway! ( the key was noticing the installer for sony vagas 8.0A and above!.. and realized I had not updated vegas after I reformatted my computer…
I was still sitting at 8.0!

there’s only one little piece i need to fix so rather than redo the whole thing thing I’m rendering it out and maybe i can fix it from one avi file
OK for the record..
if I do have a piece of screwed up video that i need to fix.. is there some article on color correcting from the media bin ( as i have read) ??
I’ll wait for some advise – and when this is done i’ll reload that media and see if i can get back to color correction… ( in a new project ) or a copy of the media.. just in case!…
Well.. i was doing pretty well here for a while..

i see event fx bypassed down at the preview window but i can’t undo it? any clues?

i used generated media (fill color) to fill the voids and rendered them out as avi media with proper prefix filename to match track…
then inserted them back into timelinebingo

i inserted some generated media and named them b and c
to go with the track designations ( media starts with a b or cno luck there either but there are gaps in the audio ??

John, If i’m not mistaken i tried that.. but it shrunk my timeline down.. since it is synced to music.. that wont fly.. so i told Excalibur to make each clip X seconds longer — and that gave me automatic crossfades
