I wouldn’t. If your system is stable and you have no desire to move to FCP 5, then keep your system right where it is.

Nope. Only CineWave was able to play back just about all formats of video in one timeline.
I’ve heard some folks are able to maybe mix one format in realtime if you have a very fast system. But for the most part, you need to have one format in one timeline.

Offline RT automatically cuts the frame size in half as part of it’s normal setup. You can change the frame size to go full screen, but it will be a very ugly picture. Better to just capture DV for offline work.

Unless iDVD has changed, it does not accept MPEG-2 files brought in. You have to bring in the native QT file and let iDVD do the MPEG-2 conversion. It starts automatically as soon as you drag the file into iDVD.

Use the “Load Sequence Settings” button on the lower left and choose DV-NTSC. All will be set for you automatically.

Yep, Uprez is extremely cool and I’m about to start using it in production for a series here. The only thing I’m waiting for from anybody is a cross-convert feature for 720 – 1080 and vice versa. My AJ-HD1200A can actually perform this feat so it would be nice if the K2 could support this eventually.
