    Good to know.
We have an event coming up and were going to use two Z1Us and one Canon XLH1 (because of the 20X zoom lens) and were hoping to use our Z1U to capture it into FCP. Sounds like Canon tapes won’t play in our Z1U.

July 18, 2006 at 9:10 pm in reply to: Capture Problems, yet again.

I just had the same problem with capturing DV and experienced the same Time Code Break errors and I know for sure there are no TC breaks. I tried two different decks, same thing. The only way I was able to capture this footage is by turning the Device Control off and pressing play on the deck and going Capture Now. I can’t explain it, but that’s what happened, I’m wondering if the new updates causing this. Any one else tried to Capture something lately via Firewire and experianced the same problem?

If you have Power Point App. on your laptop, you can play the presentation and re-capture it with your desktop. Since laptops have video and audio out, you can recapture it Analog to your desktop G5. We done it many times, looks good.

According to Bitvice president, current version of Bitvice will NOT get optimal results going from HD to DVD.
The new version is coming out shortly and will be able to deal with it and will have multi-pass scaling algorithms

Sean, so You’ve done Bitvice from FCP HD (1280/1080) to DVD and had great results?
what settings would you use for 52 min documentary? Would you use VBR or CBR?
    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks you all
