If you can post a still of green screen footage, I will try to create an example project for you using keylight in a better way. Also choose Intermediate result and not Final result as Final Result will give you noisy results 90% of the time. Then use Spill Suppressor Effect to remove the Green spill over the subject.

After pasting the Tracking data to a Null Object in Ae from Mocha, Delete the Anchor Point Keyframes. It should work 🙂

Hello Elliott
I can figure out how to create a plate with the laptop screen, but how to do create the zoom thru screen effect?
To zoom into the computer screen animate the camera towards the screen and then to show that we are passing though the screen you can use combination of different effect like Displacement Map in convergence with Wave World or Bulge effect. You can also show some shift in hue and focus. There are many possibilities.
If you have any reference, I would try to help you out to create the same look.

On a small screen monitor, Your comp will go out of the viewing area at 100%. If you want to see the whole comp at 100% then:
1. Use another monitor for displaying the composition Panel.
2. Change the Workspace as Required.
3. Press ” ~ ” key(left to 1) to see only the composition Panel.Another workaround is to work with Fit to Comp size option.
Press ” Shift + / “ and the composition panel to Fit according to the workspace.
You can work on with Fit settings and then Check Full Screen in Preview Panel to view the RAM preview in full size.

If you can upload the video, we can see whether the problem is with the footage or the tracking procedure. What about the track in Mocha, is it fine there or the problem occurs when you paste the data in AE? Have you tried adjusting the track?

Ted has given a method which is pretty fast and easy.
Though you have to keep certain points on mind using Venetian blind effect.
When two layers overlap each other perfectly there will be edges left unfilled because of semi transparent edge pixels. So you have to keep the above layer in Alpha Add mode.
direction of venetian blind of first layer should be opposite to that of second. In this case, One should be 90 degrees and other should be negative 90 degree.
Check the Example:

there’s no other way instead of element 3d?
Element 3D is to integrate 3D object within AE. Its basically a Particle Generator. For particles you may have to use Plexus(as in this video, Particles joined with each other) as John suggested or you can use Particle effects of AE.

As Joseph said Final Result gives noisy results most of the time. Using Intermediate result is the solution. But you will loose the spill suppression feature of Keylight. Use Spill Suppression Effect after keylight with Intermediate result to get the best results.

but I appear to be getting pixelation when zoomed in on the screen?
If you are zooming using Mouse scroll, then it is an expected behavior.
Use a Camera to zoom in and then check the results.

You are right. Use the combination of both Joseph’s and John’s advice. Use a Grid Emitter with Sprite/Texture as Particle. Make a Comp in which you have to put all the images of individuals with length one frame each. For this you can use Sequence Layeroption which will automatically do the trick.
