Have you tried to mess around with your clip white and black values found under screen matter? also have you tried to use a simple choker to cut down some of those harsh values?

this might be a stupid response but can u use another export from ae? like uncompressed quicktime and bring that in, it seems like the problem isn’t in your method but in your format.

i would mess around with some hold key frames. this way you can frame 1 emitting 1000 particles frame 2 0 particles, then jump to 2 seconds and emit 2000 particles then a frame later 0 particles and so on. try this out if not please give me a better idea of what u are trying to do, hope this helps.

unless i am miss understanding you, it is very easy to key frame the partials per sec. just animate that and you are good to go.

i would use trapcode particular, you can make custom particles(your music notes) and you don’t have animate each one, you can do alot with randomness and size over time, also gravity, if you don’t want to get a plugin you can use the wiggler to achieve some randomness after you have done your initial keyframes

i would check the trapcode forum, trapcode particular is the easiest way to do explosions, and i think you can a bunch of presets with it.

February 16, 2007 at 2:13 am in reply to: Problems with particlur

i am doing a butterfly animation, and i want to have a trail follow the butterfly similar to the ipod nano ads. So i made a custom particle that mimicked the motion of the wings. that works fine, the problem is that every particle animates. i want to have the wing leave a trail that doesn’t move, but still follows the motion of the what the wing did. is there a way to freeze each particle after it has been placed? i am not sure if that is even the right direction but i really could use some help, sorry if i was unclear before. I hope this give more clarity for what i am trying to do.

you can mask the comp, i usally make my countdown numbers the full size of the one comp, and the background will be transparent when you bring that into a new comp. To stop the shifting you need to text align left not right, your eye won’t see as much movement if the far right side of the text is moving around, but if it is the left side the eyes it all. hopefully this can help you out.
