Ok, following on from last week – the current status is the countdown is pretty much working, however:

    – I cannot mask certain parts of the countdown (when i create a mask, it doesn’t do anything). So i have put a black solid layer over it, w/ a black background, but this is somewhat limiting – can’t have a changing background.

    – the countdown numbers move when the numbers change because of different widths of numerals.

Small problems to fix i figure, so if you know how, call on in.

    Thanks,
    Dan

you can mask the comp, i usally make my countdown numbers the full size of the one comp, and the background will be transparent when you bring that into a new comp. To stop the shifting you need to text align left not right, your eye won’t see as much movement if the far right side of the text is moving around, but if it is the left side the eyes it all. hopefully this can help you out.

The numbers filter has to be added to a layer, then precomp that layer moving all attributes to the new comp. You can now mask the comp

To remove the shift, there is a setting that is called proportional spacing (near the bottom of the filter), remove it and adjust the tracking to make sure that numbers are properly spaced.

    Regards
