Here’s what Roxio has to say about toast 7
“Span files, folders and even applications across multiple CDs and DVDs. Now you can safely backup files of any size and easily retrieve them with the included Restore tool. Toast 7 breaks through the size limitations that the Mac OS and all other burning software has.”
Sounds like it’ll do the trick.

Thanks for the info, I’ll give it a try.

a DVD? -
thank you for your response

Does the mixer have an XLR type connector? You’re probably coming out of the mixer at -10 level and the 1800 expects +4. If your tascam patch panel is 1/4 inch or RCA its probably unbalanced and if you come out the same type of connectors on the mixer output its probably -10 unbalance. You want +4 balanced, that’s either a 1/4 TRS connector or an XLR connector, which is what the 1800 has.

I’m not sure how this would work for you problem, but I use DH drop out, a plugin by Digital Heaven. Its been a miracle worker around here. I just did a project that had a lot of drop out and they fixed perfectly.
Because of the way the program works, it takes fields before or after the drop out, it might not work with you problem unless the hit was on different fields. Its got a lot of useful settings so you might give it a try. The price is right $10.Thanks,

August 17, 2005 at 7:22 am in reply to: POLL: How much work(network / feature) is now being done on FCPWe just finished doing all the post for a new syndicated Show, “Coolfuel Roadtrip” produced by an Australian Co. A lot of UPN stations have picked it up and its will air on KABC in LA. Now the producers have ordered five more episodes for the end of the year. They’ve done previous shows on Avid systems and claim there’s no way they’d go back, they love the flexibility that FCP has given them both in work flow and expandability. We started with 2 editors and at times swelled the ranks to 7 workstations, parceling out parts of the edit (throws to break, graphics, etc.) inorder to speed up the process. As a direct result of this project we are in negotiations for another series, this time for a large cable sports network. Last season this particular show was edited on an Avid, but the producers like the work flow we were able to develop on FCP.
All this from a studio located in a barn on the top of a mountain in Santa Cruz, CA. FCP and the AJA IO have been hugely responsible for our rapid growth into episodic TV.Thanks,

July 14, 2005 at 3:59 pm in reply to: How do I get the fastest possible speeds out of 2 LaCie FW800 drives?try barefeats.com they did some tests. Basically the idea was if each drive is on its own card or bus it would be fastest.
We use 2 drives striped as a raid array capturing and playing back 8 bit uncompressed and it works like a charm. -
I am working on a project where I have the same problem with a sequence that won’t open. Trashing the preferences and POA cache brought it back to life. Just to be safe I have also trashed render files, wave form cache and anything else that can rebuild itself. I still occasionally have problems with the sequence and trashing prefs always brings it back. I’ll be happy when we’re done with this show so I can breathe again.
