Sequence – Not Found – Error out of memory
I’m trying to load a sequence in my canvas and I’m getting an error message, Not found, error out of memory. Is there anyway to recall this sequence, my project is done and I’m kind of freaking out.
I have FCP 5 on a G5 2.7Thanks,

No fix. Just start over. JUST KIDDING!!!
Restart your Mac… try again… if no joy trash your preferences, try again, if no joy then trash your render files, and open it… there’s likely a bad render file causing the memory overrun… re render and export… If still no joy post back.

I am working on a project where I have the same problem with a sequence that won’t open. Trashing the preferences and POA cache brought it back to life. Just to be safe I have also trashed render files, wave form cache and anything else that can rebuild itself. I still occasionally have problems with the sequence and trashing prefs always brings it back. I’ll be happy when we’re done with this show so I can breathe again.

I’m getting a slightly different “out of memory” error in FCP.
I seem to only get the error when I’m rendering. Rendering seems to go fine for awhile. (I have several projects I’m rendering — so total render time is several hours.)
After one or two hours of rendering, I get the out of memory error message. And have to restart. (There has been a couple times when FCP has shut down — I left it on to render overnight, but then come in the morning and find FCP has shut down, with very little rendering done.)
***But my main concern right now is to resolve this “out of memory” error message.***
I’m on a G5 2.5 Ghz, with 2.5 gig of RAM. Using FCP HD 4.5. OS 10.3.9.
The longest project I’m rendering is around 20 minutes.
On previous systems, I’ve had less memory without this problem. So what gives??!!

I’m getting the same “out of memory” message when rendering. Did you ever solve it?

John, I’ve not had any big renders recently. But will probably have some in the next couple weeks. I will try to let you know at that time. Thanks, Jerry
