Are you trying to import the rendered movie, or open an old project file? Is the rendered movie in a delivery format, such as MPEG?

That’s a complicated question. There are a bunch of factors.
Are you reducing the frame size? If so, are you deinterlacing before resizing?
Does your source have fields? Does your output have fields? If so, are your field settings consistent throughout your project?Vince

It’s probably a less compressed codec. Your source codec is not identified?

Maybe, try drawing the gradient areas as individual shape objects. Here’s an example…

Maybe try running the fonts through FontDoctor or NexusFont.

I’ll usually see gradients converted to shape objects, not paths.
This can be done by expanding a gradient.Corel has some conversion/export options that may do this.
Many people consider this to be the appropriate way to prep a file for print, it can potentially help to avoid gradient interpretation issues. I trust Acrobat to use gradients correctly, however.
The only way I can think to fix this would be to save the key colors as swatches, and recreate the gradient inside the shape object.

To try to isolate the issue, you could use the Group Selection Tool and Shift Select the two paths, copy them, and paste them into a new document, than see if you can join them there.

I’m not exactly sure what this issue may be. I’ve also had issues with huge text fields before.
Can you break the text field into smaller fields?
This ‘flicker’ sounds like a display refresh phenomenon.
If you just want to hide the flicker you could View/Hide Edges, but than you’ll lose other goodies, like the text cursor and bounding boxes.Just some ideas.

Make sure that the paths you are trying to join are not grouped, with anything.
Also, make sure there are no other points hidden above or below the points you are trying to join. Do this in Outline mode, and move the points with the Direct Select tool, than you can see if there are any strays hiding on the same location.
Make sure you are only selecting the desired points with the Direct Selection tool, and not the whole path.
Or, try using the Pen Tool to join the paths.Vince

Maybe, check to see if your Document Setup is set to Pixels, and your Preference Units are set to pixels.
Than, click on the artboard with the Rectangle Tool and create a 1000x1000PX box.
Than, use the Align to Artboard function to center the box.
Than, center the ruler.I’ve had some issues with less-than precise snapping since moving to CS4. I’ve reverted to CS3.
Just some ideas.
