For some reason I am having issues with Snapping to Guides in Illustrator.

    I create a 1000 X 1000 pixel Document

I create a Horizontal & Vertical guide… both are exactly placed at the 500 pixel mark. I am sure of this by checking the x & y boxes up top.

I then try to drag the ruler reset tool to set the zero point directly in the center. I have snap to point selected. But no matter what I do it never seems to snap to the place were the two guides meet which should be exactly at 500 v 500w. It always seems to be off by a decimal point or two. Maybe .08 or .015 or something.

In Preferences I have changed the Snap point from 2 to 1 which helps but it never seems to snap exactly. Is there a SNAP TO GUIDES function I am missing? I see SNAP TO POINT and SNAP TO GRID but none for SNAP TO GUIDES

    Driving me crazy… any thoughts?

Maybe, check to see if your Document Setup is set to Pixels, and your Preference Units are set to pixels.
Than, click on the artboard with the Rectangle Tool and create a 1000x1000PX box.
Than, use the Align to Artboard function to center the box.
    Than, center the ruler.

I’ve had some issues with less-than precise snapping since moving to CS4. I’ve reverted to CS3.

    Just some ideas.
