I’m a bit behind the times, as I’m still using PP1.5. But, generally you should use files that are in an editing format (uncompressed, HUFFY, etc.) and not a delivery format, such as WMV.

As Les mentioned, first outline the type. Then, select the Direct Selection tool (the white arrow pointer without the plus sign, or press ‘a’ on your keyboard) from the toolbox and use it to select the upper points of the object that you want to modify. In your case, the top of the ascender on the lower-case ‘d’.
With the points selected, you can move them wherever you want.
Hold down the shift key while moving the points to constrain the movement, if appropriate.

In Premiere, you create a project with settings that match your desired output. So, if you want an output file to be 720×480 29.97P, then those are the settings that you should use when you create the premiere project.
To change the dimensions of a file in premiere, use Video/Effect/Distort/Transform.

You probably need an alpha channel in the file. Or ‘Millions of Colors +’, as opposed to ‘Millions of Colors’, which doesn’t hold an alpha.

There are a lot of approaches to this, so this is just something that will hopefully get you moving in the right direction.

It’s a radial gradient with a raster brushed metal tile on top. The edges are opacity mask gradients, accessed in the Transparency drop-down menu.

Hmmm. Maybe make sure the Illustrator file is in RGB color mode, and that the color swatches that you are using are in gamut?? That’s about all I can think of. 🙁

Awesome! Yes. When you respond, under the ‘Message:’ title there is a small camera icon (and other html formatting/upload icons) that allows you to upload an image, click it.

If you get a chance, fill out your profile with your system spec’s so we can see what you’re working with.

Generally, FireWire captures don’t have sync issues. They usually pop up when you are doing an analog capture.
What is your hardware and workflow.

Obviously, it’s better to fix the issue than it is to have to spend time syncing your files.

I don’t have a straight answer.. but, try saving:
a blank file
a file with a shape
a file with a little text

It might help to narrow down the issue.

Maybe try disabling PDF compatibility also.
