I use an Epson Stylus Photo RX580.
You also need White Inkjet discs, unless you were intending to screen print.

The discs come in gloss or matte. 40mm printable inner diameter or 20mm (full hub) printable inner diameter.

I’ve always used Verbatim, but I’m sure there are other good brands.
I’ll note though, Verbatim makes a printable white gloss DVD disc called ‘AquaAce’. The print looks amazing, stunning actually, but the disc is slightly thicker than spec. They don’t write this in the ads, but when you get the discs, there is a warning on the package that says they shouldn’t be used in slot loading DVD/Disc players (iMacs for instance), they might become stuck. So if this is something that is going to a client, I wouldn’t recommend them.

Some other observations I’ve made… I’ll usually use matte surface discs because most of my own discs are going in disc binder and the surface of the disc will be pressed against plastic most of the time.
The matte surface never sticks to the plastic. If there’s any humidity in your print room when you print gloss discs the print can be sticky for quite some time, like days to weeks.

Just some thoughts, I’ve been wanting to share this for a long time. 🙂

In PS when you rotate an image it rasterizes once you set the rotation, or scale or whichever.
Illustrator doesn’t continuously rasterize as you work.
If you need an image to rasterize, select the object and Object/Rasterize.

Are you exports or prints blurry?
Maybe try doing your rotations in Photoshop, then link or embed the image.
If your in a 300ppi AI file, ideally you should use 300ppi images.

Adobe recommends at least three drives.
1 – OS and Apps
2 – Project and Temps
3 – Source

If you can, put your temps on a fourth drive.
Note, all of these drives should be internal or at least ‘fast’, SATA or something like that.
That is to say, I’m not sure GigabitLAN would be ideal, never tested it.

Generally, using default methods to reduce framerate from 30 to 24fps will introduce an awkward cadence to your motion.
I haven’t had to do this for some time, but I don’t recall there being a ‘correct’ way to do it in Premiere without a plugin.
I always did this in AE with Twixtor. Instead of simply dropping frames it would redraw frames. I believe that AE now has this function in the default installation.
I’d look through the After Effects archives. I think Andrew Kramer has an AE tutorial for changing framerates in AE, it might be searched by ‘frame rate’, of ‘ time remapping’ or something.

Here’s one way to do it.
It basically uses Object/Envelope Distort/Make with Top Object.
The joint will meet almost perfectly, so you may have to make a few minor adjustments depending on your needs.

In AI, select the object and Ctrl/Command + C, then release C (still holding Ctrl/Command) and then press F to paste in front or B to paste in back.
In PS, when I Copy/Paste the first paste always lands in the same position that it was copied from. Subsequent pastes land in the center of the artboard. If I wanted to repeatedly ‘paste’ into the original position I would do the first paste then just duplicate the layer.

I was hoping someone would have an answer for this, so I gave it a few days.
Any luck on your end?

I’ve never used CS5. It looks like there were issues in CS4 in removing pulldown from source from specific cams.? Maybe the issue still exists.
AE has been pretty reliable for this type of thing, but adds another step in the process, as you know.
I could be mistaken, but if you remove the pulldown do you actually need to do any deinterlacing?

When you say ‘when I process a sequence’, do you mean that you are encoding a finalized project?
If so, it all depends on your export settings, what codec you are using, and how much compression you are using (the bitrate) versus the frame size and frame rate.
What format is the source material?
Are you resizing the video?
Do your project settings match your output settings?
What playback medium are you encoding this for – desktop, standalone hardware?
We’d need a lot more information to give you more specific answers.
Maybe, fill out your profile with your apps and system specs so we can see what you are working with, and maybe search the premiere forums…
