Yes, if you stop paying, they just put the subscription on hold, so if you are a casual user, this can be a really good deal. Especially since you can do this for every application in the suite.

That also works well for companies that use a large number of machines for specific projects. A whole year for multiple machines can get very pricey.

H.264 is much more efficient (newer) than Mpeg 2, so yes, that would be the format of choice

Only through an external DVI/VGA display set as extended. You can tell Premiere to send full screen preview to it in your playback settings.

This is a typical gamma issue that happens on Windows machine when the footage is played in Quicktime. My recomendation would be to use another player, such as VLC for Windows. You can do a search for gamma fix H.264, there are a few solution out there, but the problem resides within QuickTime.

If you are dynamic linking to Encore, change your transcode settings to H.264 and PCM.

It’s most likely a Codec issue. I would try bringing it into Adobe Media Encoder instead and see if you can export to something lese first, but you’ll likely have to look at a third party conversion like Tmpeg encoder

Actually, you would just drag your 16×9 sequence (from the project panel) inside a new 4×3 sequence. Scale if needed, then export as 4×3.
