Sure, just about anything you can think of. Just hit the general tab in your new sequence settings, make your selection, there’s a save preset at the bottom. With the “Desktop” setting (I use this for mixed footage), you have access to about any resolution / frame rate.

Hi John,
A couple of things. If the screen is 16×9, and everything shown is 16×9, the projectionist can overshoot a 4×3 projector, putting the bars off screen. Either way, I would stick with a 16×9 project, you can always dump the timeline in a 4×3 sequence and export 4×3 if you need 4×3 letterboxed.

It doesn’t look like it’s uncompressed, but at this point, I’d ask for either Quicktime Animation, Motion Jpeg, or PNG. The size will be smaller, and they all work cross platform.

What codec did she use for export?

I believe what you changed was basically the encoding complexity, which puts less strain in the CPU / graphics.

Not sure where you were able to purchase that cable, but I doubt this would ever work without specialized software or hardware.
DV stream can only be sent from Firewire to Firewire.
To capture to USB, the signal has to be re-compressed in realtime, and of course that means further degradations in quality.
There is this solution, but the reviews seem to agree with me…

Not sure if this laptop has an express card slot, but if it does, I’d highly recommend an eSata card. That would allow you to use a external eStata drive at the minimum, or even a small RAID array.

Very simple, put your title right over the track you want to fill it with, apply the “Track Matte Key” effect to the footage below, select the track above as matte, done.

That could a completely different issue. Have you tried importing the project into a new CS5 project?
If you haven’t used project manager for the transfer, now would be a good time…
